How to Fix YouTube TV Content Unavailability

YouTube TV relies heavily on your physical location to determine which local channels and sports games you are allowed to watch. If you get a message saying content is unavailable or blocked, it's usually a location settings issue.
1. Update Your Current Playback Area
YouTube TV needs to know exactly where you are.
- Open the YouTube TV app on your phone (make sure location services/GPS are turned on).
- Tap your profile picture > Settings > Area > Current Playback Area.
- Tap Update.
- Once updated on your phone, try watching on your TV again.
2. Connect Your TV and Phone to the Same Wi-Fi
If your TV still thinks you are in a different area, make sure your smartphone and your TV are connected to the exact same Wi-Fi network when you update your playback area.
3. Turn Off Any VPNs
If you are using a VPN (Virtual Private Network) to secure your internet, it masks your location. YouTube TV will automatically block content if it detects a VPN. Turn it off while streaming.
