How to Fix Missing DVR Recordings on YouTube TV
One of the best features of YouTube TV is the unlimited cloud DVR. However, it can be incredibly frustrating to open your library and find that a show you definitely recorded is missing.
Here is how to locate your missing recordings.
Step 1: Check the "Extras" Folder
YouTube TV organizes recordings based on standard metadata provided by the networks (Season 1, Episode 2, etc.). However, sometimes a network doesn't tag an episode correctly. When this happens, YouTube TV doesn't know where to put the episode, so it dumps it into a folder called Extras.
- Go to your YouTube TV Library.
- Select the show you are looking for.
- Scroll past all the standard seasons until you find the "Extras" tab and look there.
Step 2: Check "Events" for Sports
If you recorded a live sporting event (like a football game or a WWE match), it usually will not appear under "Shows." Instead, check the Events tab or the Sports tab in your library.
Step 3: Wait for VOD to Process
If a recording was interrupted by a broadcast error, YouTube TV might replace your recording with the official Video On Demand (VOD) version from the network. VOD versions usually appear 24 hours after the live broadcast. While you wait, the episode might temporarily disappear from your library. Check back the next day!
