How to Fix Paramount Plus Fatal Error on Startup

Seeing the words "Fatal Error" on your TV screen can be alarming, but in the streaming world, it usually just means the app crashed while trying to load its start-up files. It is very common with the Paramount+ app.
Here is how to clear the error and get back to streaming.
Step 1: Check for Paramount+ Server Outages
Before you start unplugging things, it's possible that the Paramount+ servers are down.
- Check a site like Downdetector on your phone to see if other users are reporting problems. If there is a massive spike in reports, you just have to wait it out.
Step 2: Clear the App Data (The Real Fix)
A "Fatal Error" means a critical file that the app needs to start is corrupted. Clearing the app data deletes these corrupted files.
- On Android TV / Google TV: Settings > Apps > Paramount+ > Clear Data.
- On Fire TV: Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications > Paramount+ > Clear Data.
- On Roku: Highlight the app, press the asterisk (*) button, select "Remove app", restart the Roku, and reinstall the app.
(Note: Clearing data means you will have to log in with your email and password again).
Step 3: Update the App
Streaming apps update frequently. If you are running an outdated version of Paramount+, it might not be able to connect to their current servers. Go to your device's App Store, search for Paramount+, and see if there is an "Update" button available.
